The Charity dinner with a celebrity chef held at Hotel Equatorial immediately before it’s closing down was a HUGE success with approx RM17,000 raised for charity.
The dinner was a special in collaboration with both Hotel Equatorial and Singaporean celebrity Chef Tony Khoo cooking up a unique 5 course charity dinner. Each guest received a coffee table cooking book by Chef Khoo highlighting some 30 years of experience in the professional kitchen.
RM50 of each ticket sold was ear marked for charity. The council had targeted to double that amount with a unique charity auction… a first for the Kuala Lumpur Baillage. It was a HUGE success thanks to generous sponsors and donors such as Best Western Premier Dua Sentral, Trinidad Tobacco, Hospitality Sdn Bhd and Danish artist Charlotte Donvang… and not least generous guests who were happy to pay the price for high quality as well as supporting hungry homeless people.
A special dinner indeed for the happy guests who enjoyed an outstanding dinner in now historical surroundings and at the same time being able to feed 1000s of desolate and homeless people through the Street Fellowship based in Petaling Street of Kuala Lumpur. The official donation will take place at the Christmas dinner 2012.
